Subject: Donation to Ukraine Update
The Committee approved donating $1,000.00 to aid the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis at their June 15, 2022, meeting, but has been unable to find an organization to donate through. So far there has been no response from large Ukrainian church in Chicago that was contacted. The city needs a W-9 as well as a letter to the Sister City Planning Committee from the organization that will be receiving the donation to submit to the Finance Department. Caskey will check with the Door County Candle Company to see if they can help, as 100% of profits from their Ukraine Candle are donated to Razom for Ukraine, a Ukrainian 501 (c)(3) organization. To date they have raised $1M in donations. O'Connell will send Caskey the information requested by the city.
