The MARK Passenger Rail Commission is an intergovernmental body formed by municipalities under Wisconsin law to advance the development and implementation of passenger rail service along the Milwaukee Area–Racine–Kenosha (MARK) Corridor. Its mission is to promote public benefits through improved regional and interstate rail connections, particularly to the Chicago metropolitan area and the national passenger rail network. The Commission coordinates planning, funding, and partnerships; manages grants; supports transit-oriented development; and fosters collaboration among governments, agencies, and private stakeholders. It also participates in regulatory, environmental, and land-use planning processes to ensure the successful implementation and long-term sustainability of passenger rail service in the region.
