Tavern at 1333 Douglas Avenue

 

That the request by Mark Gill and Lavonda Perkins to operate a tavern at 1333 Douglas Avenue is approved, subject to the following conditions:

 

a. That the plans presented to the Plan Commission on April 9, 2014, be approved subject to the conditions contained herein.

 

b. That all applicable building and occupancy permits be obtained from the Building Inspection department.

 

c. That all signage shall be reviewed and approved by the Department of City Development prior to installation or issuance of a building permit

 

d. That the applicants provide additional off-street parking, possibly via an agreement with an adjoining property having space available in the evening hours.  Proof of additional parking and the parking agreement shall be provided to Staff prior to issuance of an occupancy permit. Alternatively, approval by the Plan Commission to allow for on-street parking will alleviate this requirement.

 

e. That the business operator is responsible for keeping individuals from loitering on the premises after closing time

 

f. That the number of patrons on the premises shall be limited to that number as listed on the occupancy certificate.

 

g. That food shall not be served until all applicable permits and inspections have been approved.

 

h. That the hours and days the facility is open to the public for regular business may be Monday - Thursday from 6:00 p.m. till 2:00 a.m., and Fridays - Sundays from 4:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.

 

i. That the following shall apply:

 

1. Live music and /or D.J. music shall begin no earlier than 5:00 p.m. and run no later than 12:00 a.m.

2. Live music and D.J. music shall be limited to the inside of the premises with doors and windows remaining closed.

 

j. That off-duty police officers be on site to verify customers’ IDs and to check for weapons prior to allowing patrons into the establishment and that there be 4 to 8 security cameras on site and that all security cameras on the premises be fully operable.

 

k. That this permit is subject to the review and recommendation of the Douglas Avenue Business Improvement District.

 

l. That all codes and ordinances be complied with and required permits acquired.

 

m. That no minor changes be made from the conditions of this permit without the approval of the Plan Commission and no major changes be made from the conditions of this permit without the approval of the Common Council

 

n. That this permit is subject to Plan Commission review for compliance with the listed conditions.
