Title: THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PLEASANT AUTHORIZED TO UTILIZE CONDEMNATION POWERS IN TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RACINE WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Pleasant has undertaken measures pursuant to a Chapter 30 permit issued by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to rechannel the Pike River in the County of Racine, Village of Mount Pleasant, and City of Racine to more effectively convey storm water and to increase the diversity of the Pike River as a resource; and WHEREAS, State law requires the Village of Mount Pleasant to obtain a resolution of authorization from the City of Racine to exercise eminent domain pursuant to Chapter 32.05 within the municipal boundaries of the City of Racine; and WHEREAS, the City of Racine does wish to allow the Village of Mount Pleasant to utilize the statutory powers of condemnation to achieve the objective of making the Pike River a more biologically diverse resource and to more effective convey storm water in the areaqs described in the exhibi...

THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PLEASANT AUTHORIZED TO UTILIZE CONDEMNATION POWERS IN TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RACINE

 

 

WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Pleasant has undertaken measures pursuant to a Chapter 30 permit issued by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to rechannel the Pike River in the County of Racine, Village of Mount Pleasant, and City of Racine to more effectively convey storm water and to increase the diversity of the Pike River as a resource; and

 

WHEREAS, State law requires the Village of Mount Pleasant to obtain a resolution of authorization from the City of Racine to exercise eminent domain pursuant to Chapter 32.05 within the municipal boundaries of the City of Racine; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Racine does wish to allow the Village of Mount Pleasant to utilize the statutory powers of condemnation to achieve the objective of making the Pike River a more biologically diverse resource and to more effective convey storm water in the areaqs described in the exhibits on file with the Commissioner of Public Works.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Mount Pleasant may exercise condemnation pursuant to Chapter 32.05, Wis. Stat., within the municipal boundaries of the City of Racine in the areas depicted on the exhibits and incorporated herein by reference.
