Subject: Item 6 of 11-15-05, being a communication from a representative of Laidlaw Transit Services requesting an opportunity to present their costs for providing ADA transportation services.
Recommendation: Rescind the action taken under Item 6 of the November 1, 2005, Transit and Parking Commission report, and direct the Transit Planner to obtain written comments from citizens and users of the current paratransit service regarding the current serving and the City's proposal to run the service directly by February 1, 2006, and
Further direct the Transit general manager to provide the Transit and Parking Commission with cost per ride calculations for an in-house operated paratransit system at its February meeting, and
Further, recommend that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute a contract amendment, extending the current Laidlaw Transit Service agreement for paratransit service until October 1, 2006.
