Subject: Communication from the Public Health Administrator requesting that the City enter into an agreement with the Racine County Human Services Department for the continuation of the Brighter Futures Program for 2006. (Grant Control No. 2005-038) and permission to accept funding and for the Mayor and City Clerk to sign a contract with the Racine County Human Services Department in the amount of $70,000. The monies will fund the continuation of the Brighter Futures Program for 1/1/06-12/31/06. The item was also referred to Board of Health.
Finance & Personnel Committee's recommendation: That the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the Racine County Human Services Department (Grant Control No. 2005-038) to receive $70,000 for the Brighter Futures Program for the period of January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006.
Fiscal Note: No match is required by the City. The City will serve as the fiscal agent for this program. Of the $70,000, $40,725 will be allocated to the City and the remaining funds will be allocated to other municipalities.
Board of Health's recommendation: That the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to enter into an agreement with the Racine County Human Services Department for the Brighter Futures Program. The agreement is for the period 1/1/06-12/31/06.
Fiscal Note: The city will serve as the fiscal agent and the monies ($70,000) will be divided between the City of Racine, Caledonia/Mt. Pleasant and Western Racine County Health Departments.
