Further recommend that the City of Racine's Grant Administrator seek additional grant funding so that the return on the investment is 12 years or less on this project.

Fiscal Note: The project is estimated at $350,000.00. Grants from WE Energies and Focus on Energy will total $130,000.00, leaving a potential local cost of $220,000.00. Savings from the generation of electrical power is estimated at $10,600.00 per year which will result in a 22 year payback period which is essentially the current estimated life of the solar panels. If the Grant Administrator is unsuccessful in securing additional grant funding to achieve a 12 year or less payback period, the project will not move forward.
