Title: Subject: (Direct Referral) Communication from the Assistant Commissioner of Public Works/Operations requesting permission to apply for a Focus on Energy Grant for the installation of LED light fixtures at the Equipment Maintenance Garage, Phase II. (Res.08-1163) Recommendation of the Public Works and Services Committee on 12-9-08: That the Commissioner of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized and directed to enter into a grant agreement, on behalf of the City of Racine, with Focus on Energy which will provide an estimated $5,123.00 in funding for Phase II of the Equipment Maintenance Garage LED Light Fixture project. The total estimated cost of this project is $42,000.00. Further recommends that funds for this project are available in the 2009 Capital Improvement budget. Fiscal Note: The grant and resulting reduction in annual energy costs will result in less than a 6 year payback.
