Title: Subject: Communication from the West Racine Business and Professional Association requesting permission to use public right-of-way for the Western Days parade on Saturday, July 21, 2007. Recommendation: That permission be granted to the West Racine Business and Professional Association to close the following streets: Washington Avenue (STH "20") between West Lawn Avenue and West Boulevard on Saturday, July 21, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the annual Western Day Parade, and Hayes Avenue, from Washington Avenue south to Infusino's driveway, for stationing the Stage on Wheels during Western Day, to be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 19, 20 and 21, 2007. Further recommends that permission be granted with the following stipulations: A. A hold harmless agreement be executed; B. Proof of liability insurance be filed prior to the event; C. Any overtime costs incurred by any City department be charged to the sponsor; D. The sponsor shall notify all abutting property o...

Subject: Communication from the West Racine Business and Professional Association requesting permission to use public right-of-way for the Western Days parade on Saturday, July 21, 2007.

 

Recommendation: That permission be granted to the West Racine Business and Professional Association to close the following streets:

 

Washington Avenue (STH "20") between West Lawn Avenue and West Boulevard on Saturday, July 21, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the annual Western Day Parade, and Hayes Avenue, from Washington Avenue south to Infusino's driveway, for stationing the Stage on Wheels during Western Day, to be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 19, 20 and 21, 2007.

 

Further recommends that permission be granted with the following stipulations:

 

A.  A hold harmless agreement be executed;

B.  Proof of liability insurance be filed prior to the event;

C.  Any overtime costs incurred by any City department be charged to the sponsor;

D. The sponsor shall notify all abutting property owners seventy-two (72) hours in advance of this event;

E.  The sponsor shall pay a $550.00 special event fee.

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Commissioner of Public Works/City Engineer and Chief of Police provide limited assistance, in the interest of public safety, to implement this event.

                     

Fiscal Note: There will be nominal costs incurred on a regular shift basis to provide limited assistance to implement this event.
