Title: Permission to use right-of-way for 2008 International Cycling Classic Resolved, that the Racine County Convention and Visitors Bureau be granted permission to close the following streets to hold the 2008 International Cycling Classic to be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Main Street from State Street to Sixth Street, Sixth Street from Main Street to College Avenue, College Avenue from Sixth Street to Water Street, Water Street from College Avenue to Fourth Street, Wisconsin Avenue from 4th Street to State Street, State Street from Wisconsin Avenue to Main Street; with the following stipulations: A. A hold harmless agreement be executed. B. Proof of liability insurance be filed prior to this event. C. Any overtime costs incurred by any City department be charged to the sponsor. D. Resolved, that the Racine County Convention and Visitors Bureau be granted permission to close the following streets to hold the 2008 International Cycling Classic to be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.,
 
Main Street from State Street to Sixth Street,
Sixth Street from Main Street to College Avenue,
College Avenue from Sixth Street to Water Street,
Water Street from College Avenue to Fourth Street,
Wisconsin Avenue from 4th Street to State Street,
State Street from Wisconsin Avenue to Main Street;
 
with the following stipulations:
 
A. A hold harmless agreement be executed.
B. Proof of liability insurance be filed prior to this event.
C. Any overtime costs incurred by any City department be charged to the sponsor.
D. The sponsor shall notify all abutting property owners seventy-two (72) hours in advance of this event.
E. The sponsor shall pay a $800.00 special event fee.
F. Sponsor shall be responsible for placement of all traffic control devices.
 
Further resolved, that the Commissioner of Public Works/City Engineer and Chief of Police provide limited assistance, in the interest of public safety, to implement this event.
 
 
Fiscal Note: There will be nominal costs to various City departments, on a regular shift basis, to assist in implementing this event.
