Title: Subject: Communication from the General Manager of the Water Utility requesting permission to close State Highway 20 for a future construction project. (Res.10-1834) Recommendation of the Public Works and Services Committee on 1-26-10: That permission be granted to the Racine Water Utility to close Washington Avenue from 9th Street to Center Street for the reconstruction of a water transmission main during the 2010 construction season with the stipulation that the Water Utility provide and maintain all barricades and signage necessary to detour the State highway route. Further recommends that the Commissioner of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized and directed to submit to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation a notice of permit for the closure of this roadway. Fiscal Note: There will be no cost to the City of Racine. All costs will be paid for by the Racine Water Utility.
