Title: Commissioner of Public Works authorized to submit grant applications to WE Energies and Focus on Energy Resolved, that the Commissioner of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized and directed to submit grant applications to WE Energies and Focus on Energy for Phase II of the Photovoltaic Power Generating System located at the City Hall Annex. Further resolved, that the City of Racine's Grant Administrator seek additional grant funding so that the return on the investment is 12 years or less on this project. Fiscal Note: The project is estimated at $350,000.00. Grants from WE Energies and Focus on Energy will total $130,000.00, leaving a potential local cost of $220,000.00. Savings from the generation of electrical power is estimated at $10,600.00 per year which will result in a 22 year payback period which is essentially the current estimated life of the solar panels.
