Subject: DIRECT REFERRAL. Communication from the City Engineer requesting permission to apply for and to accept a Great Lakes Basin Watershed Restoration Program Grant from the Great Lakes Commission.
Recommendation: The City Engineer be granted permission to apply for a Great Lakes Basin Watershed Restoration Program Grant for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control from the Great Lakes Commission.
Further recommends that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to enter into the grant agreement for Streambank Stabilization at Lincoln Park. The total cost of this project is $130,000.00 of which the grant will pay 50%, or $65,000.00. The City’s share of the project will be paid for through the Stormwater Utility as part of it’s permit requirements.
Fiscal Note: Funds are available to cover the cost of the City’s share of the project.
