Title: Subject: Communication from the Director of Operations of Recreational Leadership Company, LLC, requesting permission to use the Walker site parking lot from August 6-14, 2006 and to close Christopher Columbus Causeway from Lake Avenue east to the water’s edge from August 7-13, 2006, in connection with the Racine Boat & RV Show. Recommendation: Permission be granted to Recreational Leadership Company, Inc. to use the Walker site parking lot for the Racine Boat & RV Show, to be held August 6-14, 2006. Further recommends that permission be granted to erect a tent in the Walker site parking lot with the stipulation that no stakes are to be installed in the pavement in order to support this tent. Recommendation: Permission be granted to Recreational Leadership Company, Inc. to use the Walker site parking lot for the Racine Boat & RV Show, to be held August 6-14, 2006.
 
Further recommends that permission be granted to erect a tent in the Walker site parking lot with the stipulation that no stakes are to be installed in the pavement in order to support this tent.
 
Further recommends that permission be granted to Recreational Leadership Company, Inc. to close Christopher Columbus Causeway, from Lake Avenue east to the water's edge, from Sunday, August 7, 2006, at 8:00 a.m., through Sunday, August 13, 2006, at 10:00 p.m.
      
Further recommends that permission be granted with the following stipulations:
 
A. A hold harmless agreement be executed.
 
B. A liability insurance certificate be filed prior to this event.
 
C. Any overtime costs incurred by any City department be charged to the sponsor.
 
D. The sponsor shall pay a $250.00 special event fee.
 
Further recommends that the Commissioner of Public Works/City Engineer and Chief of Police provide limited assistance, in the interest of public safety, to implement this event.
 
FISCAL NOTE: There will be nominal costs to various City departments, on a regular shift basis, to assist in implementing this event.
