Title
City Clerk be authorized to hold a Special Election to Fill Unexpired Term of Mayor
Resolved, that a Special Election be held in the City of Racine on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, to fill the unexpired term for the Office of Mayor.
Further resolved, that the term for Mayor will begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 and will expire on April 16, 2011.
Further resolved, that the first day to circulate nomination papers is February 19, 2009 and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in the Office of the City Clerk.
Further resolved, that a primary election be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, for Office of Mayor.
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Common Council of the City of Racine hereby directs the Racine City Clerk to hold a Special Election to fill the unexpired term of Mayor ending April 16, 2011.
Fiscal Note: The estimated cost of this special election will be $36,000.
