Title: Subject: Communication from the Senor de Tlacolula Committee requesting permission to use public right-of-way for a parade to commemorate the Mayordomia del Senor de Tlacolula on September 19, 2009. (Res.09-1575) Recommendation of the Public Works and Services Committee on 8-25-09: That the Senor de Tlacolula Committee be granted permission to close Park Avenue from 6th Street to Water Street, Water Street from Villa Street to Wisconsin Avenue, and Wisconsin Avenue from 3rd Street to 5th Street, on Saturday, September 19, 2009, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., for the Mayordomia del Senor de Tlacolula parade. Further recommends that permission be granted with the following stipulations: A. A hold harmless agreement be executed. B. A liability insurance certificate be filed prior to this event. C. Recommendation of the Public Works and Services Committee on 8-25-09: That the Senor de Tlacolula Committee be granted permission to close Park Avenue from 6th Street to Water Street, Water Street from Villa Street to Wisconsin Avenue, and Wisconsin Avenue from 3rd Street to 5th Street, on Saturday, September 19, 2009, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., for the Mayordomia del Senor de Tlacolula parade.

 

Further recommends that permission be granted with the following stipulations:

 

A. A hold harmless agreement be executed.

B. A liability insurance certificate be filed prior to this event.

C. Any overtime costs incurred by any City department be charged to the sponsor.

D. The sponsor shall pay a $250.00 special event fee.

 

Further recommends that the Commissioner of Public Works/City Engineer and Chief of Police provide limited assistance, in the interest of public safety, to implement this event.

 

Fiscal Note: There will be nominal costs to various City departments, on a regular shift basis, to assist in implementing this event.
