At each regular meeting of the common council, the order of business shall be as follows: (1) Call to order by presiding officer. (2) Roll call. If a quorum is not present, the meeting shall thereupon adjourn, which may be to a specific date and hour. (3) Pledge of allegiance to the flag. Ordinance 0015-18 - Common Council Regular Meetings - Order of Business

 

An ordinance to amend Chapter 2, Article II of the Municipal Code of the City of Racine, Wisconsin.

 

The Common Council of the City of Racine, Wisconsin, do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1: Repeal and Recreate Chapter 2, Article II, Section 2-64 of the Municipal Code of the City of Racine, Wisconsin, as follows:

 

Sec. 2-64. - Order of business.

 

At each regular meeting of the common council, the order of business shall be as follows:

 

(1)  Call to order by presiding officer.

 

(2)  Roll call. If a quorum is not present, the meeting shall thereupon adjourn, which may be to a specific date and hour.

 

(3)  Pledge of allegiance to the flag.

 

(4)  Approval of the minutes of the last preceding meeting.

 

(5)  Public hearings, if any.

 

(6)  Public comment, if any.

 

(7)  Presentation of communications.

 

(8)  Reports of committees, together with associated resolutions, may be made and considered, first from standing committees, and next from special committees.

 

(9)  Additional resolutions may be introduced and considered.

 

(10)  Ordinances may be introduced and referred.

 

(11)  Common council announcements, limited to recognition of City residents and employees, memorials, and non-political community events.

 

Part 2: This ordinance shall take effect upon passage by a majority vote of the members-elect of the City Common Council and publication or posting as required by law.
